Overview

Afghanicenus

*Afghanicenus* Holzschuh, 1971 is a small, rarely encountered genus of longhorn beetles inhabiting the arid mountain ranges of Central Asia, ranging from Afghanistan east into Pakistan and west into Iran. Adults measure 8–15 mm and are associated with wild almond (*Amygdalus*) and related Rosaceae in rocky, semi-arid landscapes at elevations between 800 and 2500 m. Larvae develop subcortically and into the wood of dead or dying host trees. The genus remains poorly known, with few specimens in collections.
