Overview
Biobessa
*Biobessa* Breuning, 1939 is a small, robust lamiin beetle ranging from 8 to 14 mm, recognised by its dense, cryptic pubescence and cylindrical body form. Adults are associated with oak (*Quercus*) in Japan, where they occur from lowlands up to approximately 800 m elevation. Larvae develop subcortically and into the wood of dead or dying host trees over one to three years. Adults are active from May to August and are best encountered on host plants or beneath bark.
