Overview
Cephalocrius
*Cephalocrius* [auct., verify] is a small, dark-bodied longhorn beetle of the subfamily Spondylidinae, restricted to Japan as a monotypic genus represented by a single species. Adults are cylindrical and elongate, ranging from 8 to 15 mm, and are associated with conifers such as *Picea* and *Abies*, where larvae develop beneath the bark and into the sapwood. Activity is nocturnal, with adults recorded on the wing from May through August. Biology remains poorly studied, and the genus is considered scarce throughout its limited range.
