Overview

Mimectatina

*Mimectatina* Pic, 1923 is a small lamiin genus of 5–12 mm cylindrical, robustly built longhorn beetles characterised by dense, cryptic pubescence that blends the insect against bark and wood surfaces. The genus is associated exclusively with *Ficus* (Moraceae), whose dead and dying wood serves as larval substrate from the subcortical layer through to the sapwood. Adults are active from May to August and are most readily encountered on or beneath the bark of host trees at altitudes up to 800 m.
