Overview

Oupyrrhidium

*Oupyrrhidium* Pic, 1916 is a small, monotypic North African longhorn beetle occurring in Morocco and Algeria, associated exclusively with oak. Adults are active from May to August, attracted to freshly dead wood and UV light, and may feed on pollen, bark, or sap. Larvae develop subcortically before entering the wood, with development spanning one to three years. The genus is rare and of particular biogeographic interest as an isolated element of the western Mediterranean fauna.
