Pseudogaurotina

*Pseudogaurotina* is a monotypic Caucasian endemic confined to mountain habitats between 500 and 2000 m elevation. Adults are diurnal flower visitors, attracted particularly to Apiaceae and Rosaceae blooms at forest edges and open meadows. Larvae develop in the stems and roots of living *Lonicera* shrubs, preferring plants already damaged by grazing or previous infestation, with development spanning several years. The genus is rarely encountered and represents one of the more localised members of tribe Lepturinae in the western Palaearctic. *P. excellens* is listed on EU Habitats Directive Annex II.
