Overview
Pygoptosia
*Pygoptosia* Reitter, 1895 is a small Palaearctic genus of Lamiinae longhorn beetles, comprising two species in the West Palaearctic region. Adults are elongate-subcylindrical, ranging from 5 to 20 mm, and typically bear dense pubescence in variable, often cryptic coloration. Larvae develop in the roots of herbaceous plants across families including Apiaceae, Asteraceae, and Boraginaceae, with development spanning one to three years. Adults are active from April through July and are considered macropterous with moderate flight capacity.
