Overview

Titoceres

*Titoceres* Thomson, 1857 is a small to medium-sized genus of robust, densely pubescent longhorn beetles belonging to the subfamily Lamiinae. The genus is centred on tropical Africa, reaching its northern limit marginally into North Africa, where it occurs from lowland habitats up to approximately 1000 m altitude. Adults are cryptically coloured and associated primarily with Moraceae, particularly *Ficus* and *Morus*, on which larvae develop subcortically before boring into sapwood over a period of one to three years. Flight activity peaks between May and August, with adults feeding on bark, shoots, and leaves of host plants.
