Alocerus
*Alocerus* Mulsant, 1863 is a small, cylindrical longhorn beetle reaching 5–12 mm, dark brown to black and sparsely pubescent. The single known species is associated with dead or dying conifers, where larvae develop beneath the bark and into the sapwood over two to four years. Adults are nocturnal and active from May to August, attracted to conifer bark and smoke. The genus belongs to the subfamily Spondylidinae and is monotypic within the West Palaearctic fauna.
