*Anastrangalia* Casey, 1924 comprises small to medium-sized longhorn beetles (8–18 mm) of the subfamily Lepturinae, recognised at once by their tapered, often vividly coloured bodies and anthophilous habits. Adults are diurnal flower visitors, frequenting Apiaceae and Rosaceae blossoms along forest edges from June to August, at elevations spanning sea level to 2,000 m. Larvae develop over approximately two years in dead or decaying wood of conifers — principally *Abies*, *Picea* and *Pinus* — preferring thicker, moderately moist, often barkless logs, windfalls, and basal portions of standing dead trees.
