Overview
Arhopaloscelis
*Arhopaloscelis* Bates, 1873 is a small Lamiinae genus distributed in East Asia, associated with oak woodlands where adults are active from May to August. The genus is characterised by a robust, cylindrical body ranging from 5 to 14 mm, clothed in dense cryptic pubescence that renders adults remarkably inconspicuous against bark. Larvae develop subcortically before boring into wood, with a developmental period of one to three years on dead or dying *Quercus*. Adults feed on bark, shoots, and leaves of the same host genus.
