Overview

Bolivarita

*Bolivarita* López-Colón, 1997 is a small, monotypic cerambycid genus endemic to southern Spain, associated exclusively with *Quercus* in Mediterranean woodland. Adults are encountered from May to August on dead or dying oak wood, where larvae develop subcortically before entering the sapwood. Despite its restricted range and apparent rarity, the genus is not currently listed under any formal conservation instrument. Attracted to fresh dead wood and UV light, it remains a seldom-observed element of Iberian saproxylic beetle communities.
