Overview
Brachyclytus
*Brachyclytus* Kraatz, 1863 is a small, monotypic genus of longhorn beetles belonging to the tribe Clytini within Cerambycinae. Adults are compact, typically 5–8 mm, and display yellow fasciae on a dark background, lending them a wasp-like appearance common among their tribe. The genus is associated with dead or dying *Acer* wood, where larvae develop subcortically before entering the sapwood. Distributed across central and south-eastern Europe into Turkey, *Brachyclytus* remains an uncommon and localised element of the region's cerambycid fauna.
