Overview
Deilus
*Deilus* Audinet-Serville, 1834 is a small Mediterranean longhorn genus with a striking metallic blue-black body and characteristically abbreviated elytra, giving adults a distinctive truncated silhouette. The single European species is associated exclusively with *Cistus* shrubs in sun-baked, thermophilous habitats across southern Europe and North Africa. Adults are fast-moving and are encountered from late April through June on flowers or resting on host plants. Larvae develop subcortically in slender twigs before boring into the wood to pupate.
