Demonax

*Demonax* Thomson, 1860 is a medium-sized longhorn beetle genus (6–16 mm) belonging to the tribe Lamiinae within the subfamily Cerambycinae, and is represented in the western Palaearctic by just 15 species, of which 4 reach Europe. The genus is overwhelmingly centred on East and Southeast Asia, where it achieves its greatest diversity with over 100 species across China, Japan, and adjacent regions. Adults are diurnal and active from May to August, frequenting sun-exposed dead wood and flowers where they feed on pollen, bark, and sap.
