Overview

Derolus

*Derolus* Gahan, 1906 is a small genus of medium-sized longhorn beetles, primarily Afrotropical in origin but reaching the western Palaearctic at its northwestern African and Middle Eastern margins. Adults are associated with oak (*Quercus*), favouring dead and dying trees where females oviposit beneath the bark. Coloration is variable and often patterned, reflecting the genus's diversity across its broader range. Adults are active from May to August and are attracted to fresh dead wood and ultraviolet light.
