Overview

Dokhtouroffia

*Dokhtouroffia* Pic, 1895 is a small, monotypic genus of Lepturinae longhorn beetles endemic to the Caucasus region and adjacent northeastern Turkey. Adults are slender and tapered, often appearing in bright or variable coloration, and are conspicuous visitors of flowers — particularly Apiaceae and Rosaceae — in montane forests and forest edges between 500 and 2000 m elevation. Larvae develop over two to four years in decaying wood of Pinaceae, favouring dead or dying trees in Caucasian montane habitats. The genus is diurnal and strong-flying, active from May through August.
