Overview

Dolocerus

*Dolocerus* Mulsant, 1862 is a small Mediterranean longhorn beetle genus comprising four European species, reaching 5–12 mm in body length. Adults are elongate-cylindrical with variable coloration and are encountered on dead or dying deciduous trees, primarily oak and chestnut, from sea level to around 800 m altitude. Flight activity spans late spring through summer (May–August), and adults may be attracted to fresh dead wood and UV light. The genus is uncommonly encountered across southern France, Italy, and the Balkans.
