Overview
Drymochares
*Drymochares* Mulsant, 1847 is a small monotypic genus of cylindrical, dark-brown to black longhorn beetles reaching 8–18 mm in length. Placed within the Spondylidinae, it is unusual among members of that subfamily in its association with deciduous trees rather than conifers. Adults are nocturnal and fly from May to July, remaining uncommon across their range in southern and central Europe. Larvae develop under bark and into the sapwood of dead or dying *Quercus* branches over two to three years.
