Overview

Eurycoptosia

*Eurycoptosia* Breuning, 1947 is a small, robust genus of longhorn beetles occurring in Turkey, associated exclusively with oaks (*Quercus*). Adults are cryptically pubescent, blending into bark surfaces where they spend much of their adult lives. Larvae develop subcortically and into wood over one to three years, feeding on dead or dying host tissue. The genus is monotypic within the West Palaearctic and attracts little general attention despite its ecological specificity.
