Overview

Gnathacmaeops

*Gnathacmaeops* Linsley, 1935 is a small, monotypic genus of Lepturinae whose single species ranges across eastern Siberia and Japan, favouring boreal and montane coniferous forests. Adults, 7–13 mm in length, are diurnal and visit flowers of Apiaceae and Rosaceae for pollen and nectar. Larvae develop over two to four years in decaying wood of Pinaceae, particularly *Picea* and *Pinus*, tunnelling beneath bark and blocking galleries with boring dust. The genus is rarely encountered away from northern or upland forest edges.
