Overview

Gracilia

*Gracilia* is among the smallest and most slender of all West Palaearctic longhorn beetles, its delicate brown body measuring just 3–7 mm and easily overlooked among dead twigs. It develops beneath the bark of thin, dry branches — notably of *Clematis*, *Vitis*, and *Salix* — and is remarkably tolerant of prolonged storage conditions, persisting even in seasoned wicker and cane. This semi-synanthropic habit has earned it the apt English name "Wicker Longhorn" and made it a frequent, if unwanted, guest in basketwork and furniture worldwide. Adults are active from May through August and are strong fliers, aided by fully developed hind wings.
