Overview

Idactus

*Idactus* Pascoe, 1864 is a small genus of robust, densely pubescent longhorn beetles associated exclusively with *Ficus* (Moraceae) across tropical Africa. Adults are cryptically coloured and range from 8 to 18 mm in length, with large emarginate eyes and filiform antennae. Larvae develop subcortically and into the wood of dead or dying host trees over one to three years. The genus is predominantly diurnal to crepuscular, with adults observed on host plant stems and beneath bark from May to August.
