Overview

Leioderes

*Leioderes* Redtenbacher, 1845 is a small but distinctive genus of longhorn beetles in the subfamily Cerambycinae, recognised by its elongate-cylindrical body and filiform to slightly serrate antennae. With three Palaearctic species, only one of which occurs in Europe, its range extends across central and south-eastern Europe into Turkey and the broader Mediterranean and Middle Eastern region. Adults are diurnal to crepuscular fliers recorded from May to July, found on or beneath the bark of their host plants. The genus is closely associated with *Clematis* (Ranunculaceae), a habit that sets it apart from most bark-frequenting cerambycids.
