Overview
Lampropterus
*Lampropterus* Mulsant, 1839 is a small Mediterranean longhorn beetle genus whose members measure 6–12 mm and display strikingly variable coloration, making them among the more visually diverse cerambycids of southern Europe and North Africa. Adults are associated with dead and dying deciduous trees, particularly oak and cherry, and are encountered from lowland habitats up to around 800 m elevation. Flight activity spans late spring through summer, and adults have been observed visiting flowers for pollen as well as feeding on bark and sap.
