Overview

Lepturobosca

*Lepturobosca* Reitter, 1913 is a monotypic genus of medium-sized longhorn beetles (10–20 mm) whose sole European species, *L. virens*, is immediately recognisable by its dense, metallic-green pubescence. A boreal element of northern and montane coniferous forests, adults are conspicuous visitors to flowers — particularly Apiaceae and Rosaceae — in woodland clearings and forest edges from June to August. Larvae develop over two to three years in the dead or dying wood of *Picea* and *Pinus*, boring broad galleries in the sapwood of standing and fallen trunks.
