Overview
Macroprionus
*Macroprionus* [auct., verify] is a monotypic genus of large, robust longhorn beetles belonging to subfamily Prioninae, known exclusively from the mountain ranges of Tajikistan in Central Asia. Adults reach 35–60 mm in length and are nocturnal, taking flight from June through September; they are most reliably observed at UV light traps. Larvae develop slowly over two to five years in the deep wood of dead and dying broadleaf shrubs and their roots, at elevations between 500 and 2000 metres.
