Overview

Nustera

Nustera Pascoe, 1869 is a small genus of three Palaearctic species in the subfamily Lepturinae, distributed across Japan and China at elevations up to 1000 m. Adults are diurnal and strongly attracted to flowers, particularly Apiaceae and Rosaceae, where they feed on pollen and nectar at forest edges and in open woodland. Larvae develop in dead or dying wood, with a prolonged larval period of two to four years; the primary recorded host is Vitis (Vitaceae). The body is slender and markedly tapered, often brightly coloured, lending these beetles a distinctive appearance among eastern Palaearctic longhorns.
