Overview
Paradandamis
*Paradandamis* Pic, 1900 is a small, monotypic genus of Prioninae confined to Turkey, where it inhabits oak-dominated forests at elevations between 200 and 1200 metres. Adults are robust, dark brown beetles reaching 8–15 mm, largely glabrous and strongly built for a nocturnal life. Attracted to UV light, they fly from June to September and do not feed, or take only sap. Their larvae develop deep within the heartwood of dead or dying *Quercus*, requiring two to five years to complete development.
