Overview
Paragaurotes
*Paragaurotes* is a small East Palaearctic genus of longhorn beetles belonging to the tribe Lepturinae, recognised by its slender, tapered body and finely faceted eyes. Adults are diurnal flower-visitors, frequently encountered on Apiaceae and Rosaceae blossoms at forest margins and woodland edges from late spring through summer. Larvae develop in decaying wood over a period of two to four years, following a semivoltine life history typical of the tribe. The genus is distributed in Japan and adjacent Central and East Asia, occurring from lowland habitats up to approximately 1500 m altitude.
