Overview

Paramallosia

*Paramallosia* Pic, 1900 is a small but distinctive genus of lamiine longhorn beetles found across mountain habitats of Turkey, the Caucasus, and Iran, typically between 500 and 2500 metres elevation. Adults measure 6–14 mm and are clothed in dense, cryptic pubescence that renders them remarkably inconspicuous against the stems of their host plants. The genus is closely associated with Lamiaceae, particularly *Phlomis* and *Salvia*, whose dead or dying herbaceous stems serve as larval substrate. Adults are diurnal to crepuscular and can be observed on host plants from May through August.
