Overview

Paratetrops

*Paratetrops* Breuning, 1943 is a very small, monotypic genus of Lamiinae restricted to Turkey, where it occurs from lowlands to elevations around 1000 m. Adults are compact and densely pubescent, their cryptic coloration blending them against the bark of oak trees. Larvae develop subcortically and into the wood of dead or dying *Quercus*, with a generation lasting one to three years. Adults are active from May to August, feeding on bark, shoots, and leaves of their host.
