Parmena

*Parmena* Dejean, 1821 is a genus of small to medium, entirely flightless longhorn beetles, immediately recognisable by their compact, robust bodies clothed in dense, cryptic pubescence that blends seamlessly with bark surfaces. With 25 species across the western Palaearctic, the genus reaches its greatest diversity in the Mediterranean basin, where it is closely associated with Cistus scrubland and garrigue from the Iberian Peninsula to the Levant, including North Africa. Adults are strictly nocturnal, spending daylight hours concealed beneath bark or within dead and dying branches.
