Overview

Parmenopsis

*Parmenopsis* Pic, 1901 is a small but robust genus of longhorn beetles found across the Mediterranean basin, ranging from southern Europe to North Africa at elevations up to 600 m. Adults measure 5–14 mm and are clothed in dense, cryptic pubescence that provides effective camouflage against bark and wood surfaces. The genus is associated chiefly with oaks (*Quercus*) and figs (*Ficus*), where larvae develop subcortically before entering the sapwood. Flight activity spans May through August, with adults observed on or beneath the bark of host plants.
