Overview

Semiangusta

*Semiangusta* Pic, 1892 is a small but distinctive genus of longhorn beetles (Lamiinae) recognised by the markedly elongate, subcylindrical body that sets it apart from most Palaearctic relatives. The genus is associated with herbaceous plants, with larvae developing in roots and stems of dead or dying material across a broad range of families including Apiaceae, Asteraceae, and Boraginaceae. Adults are diurnal to crepuscular, flying between April and July, and are considered uncommon to rare in the field. With three species in the West Palaearctic and seven recorded from Europe, the genus occupies low to mid-altitude habitats up to 1500 m.
