*Xylotrechus* Chevrolat, 1860 — the Zigzag Longhorns — are among the most visually striking cerambycids of the Palearctic, their bodies adorned with pale yellow or white fasciae arranged in bold zigzag patterns against a dark background, an appearance that functions as Batesian mimicry of wasps and ants. With around 60 species across the Palearctic and 5 in Europe, they are most diverse in the eastern part of the region, though several species are familiar inhabitants of western and central European woodlands.
