Overview

Obrium

*Obrium* Dejean, 1821 comprises small, elongate-cylindrical longhorn beetles, 5–14 mm in length, typically brownish and slender in build. With 5 species in the West Palaearctic and 2 occurring in Europe, the genus inhabits broadleaved and mixed forests, woodland margins, quarry edges, and scrub where dead or dying wood is available. Larvae develop subcortically and into the wood of branches and slender stems of *Populus* and related broadleaved trees, with development spanning one to two years. Adults are diurnal and anthophilous, appearing on flowers from May to July and are generally uncommon.
