Phytoecia

*Phytoecia* Dejean, 1835 is one of the most species-rich longhorn genera of the West Palaearctic, with around 200 species across the region and 40 recorded from Europe. Adults are small to medium-sized (5–20 mm), cryptically pubescent, and typically encountered on herbaceous vegetation in meadows and steppic habitats from April to July. Larvae bore into the stems and roots of a wide range of herbaceous plants, with Apiaceae, Asteraceae, Boraginaceae and Lamiaceae among the most frequently used families.
