*Pidonia* Mulsant, 1863 is a species-rich genus of slender, tapered longhorn beetles whose adults are characteristic visitors of woodland flowers throughout the Palaearctic region, reaching their greatest diversity in the mountains of Japan, China, and Korea. With approximately 40 Palaearctic species, the genus is dominated by Japanese endemics tied to montane forest habitats from the foothills to around 2000 m elevation. In Europe only three species are recorded, typically encountered at forest edges and in subalpine zones during the summer months of May through August.
