Overview

Trinophylum

*Trinophylum* Bates, 1873 is a small to medium-sized longhorn beetle genus of the subfamily Cerambycinae, reaching 8–16 mm in length and distributed across East Asia, principally in China and Japan. Adults are encountered from May through August, attracted to freshly dead wood and ultraviolet light, and may feed on pollen, bark, or sap. The larvae develop subcortically before entering the wood of dead or dying deciduous trees, particularly oak and hornbeam, with larval development spanning one to three years. The genus exhibits variable coloration and moderate to strong antennal sexual dimorphism.
