Overview

Trirachys

*Trirachys* Randall, 1838 is a small to medium-sized longhorn beetle genus (20–45 mm) of the subfamily Cerambycinae, distributed across East Asia, with records from China and Japan at altitudes ranging from sea level to 1000 m. The adults are characterised by filiform to slightly serrate antennae and variable coloration, sometimes forming striking patterns. Larvae develop subcortically and into the wood of dead or dying broadleaved trees, principally oaks (*Quercus*) and elms (*Ulmus*), over one to three years. Adults are diurnal to crepuscular and may be attracted to fresh dead wood and UV light.
